Hello from Tucson, AZ

I'll have to come back and fill you in on the in-between, but here we are in Tucson, Arizona! We moved here a little over a week ago - me, my husband, and our doggo.

The first week, we stayed in a colorful and charming little hideaway - it was the perfect starting place. Yesterday, we moved into a 3-month rental, with so much more space than we're used to. I sat on the couch, and looked around the house and felt so small, LOL. It's definitely nice to have some extra space, even nicer to be in a house vs a condo building. I know my husband is loving it - for the first time in I don't know how long, he plugged in his electric guitar and turned the volume up on his amp (I think as loud as it could go), and he let it go!!  His smile was so big when he came out of that room, I know that felt good for him and it made me happy for him to experience that.

Some things I've learned, discovered and searched for in my first week of being here:

People are easy to get along with. Taking the bus, people will just strike up a conversation about anything. They just wanna talk. One woman shared about her cheating ex at one of our bus stops. On the bus, some dude hit on me with very lame lines - I didn't feel threatened or annoyed; I just laughed and fist bumped him and told him to work on his material. 

I've searched for A LOT OF DIRECTIONS, bookstores, food places (pizza, Chinese), parks, shopping

-24/7 AA online meetings

- Jobs

- "legs swollen from being outside in the heat"

- "acrylic paint that don't dry too fast"

- butthole tattoos (I saw it on TikTok and had to look!)

- deva curl stylists

- hottest months in Tucson

- TD Bank (nope, none of those here)

- can I use my long-term airbnb address as my mailing address

- small event spaces (found one! Car Wash/Detailing lot)

- drugs, what are beans

- why are porn sites blocked in arizona

- swimming lakes

- how do you get tiny pricklies from cactus out of your skin 

- best sunscreen for arizona

(and off I went ... )
